Founded by George Khaldun, a community development, education, and management expert recognized for his leadership curriculum work. George oversaw Harlem Children's Zone's (HCZ) growth from a team of 50 staff supporting 200 children; to leading nearly 2,000 staff serving 13,000 children and 12,000 adults in New York City. IFUL has a special focus on how to lead, manage, change and develop urban communities. A team of lecturers and practitioners with real-world experience and insights in design and operation of after-school, day school, pre-school and social programs have provided management and leadership training in large and small organizations dealing with critical social and economic issues.
IFUL integrates experience with cutting edge research in neuroscience, organizational and individual psychology, sociology, and medicine to deliver comprehensive and practical training. IFUL also utilizes an extensive body of case studies drawn from the lives of innovative leaders and organizations to demonstrate how leadership is cultivated to enable success on every level. Included are case studies from the experiences of participants themselves to inspire and give practical advice and mentorship along the journey to personal and professional growth.
